What should I wear?

Comfort is key
Opt for clothes that are not only stylish but also comfortable. If the shoot involves children, choose soft and breathable fabrics to keep them at ease. If it is a cold day, consider hats and gloves.

the Setting
Take into account the location and backdrop of the photo shoot. For example, if it's a beach setting, light and breezy outfits in pastel tones or earthy colors work well, while a
park setting might suit patterned clothes.

co-ordinate
Instead of everyone wearing identical outfits, aim for a coordinated look by selecting a color scheme or a theme
that complements each other's outfits. This approach adds personality to the portraits and keeps it cohesive.
Getting your family ready

prepare your child
Preparing your children often reduces their timidness. Let them know what we will be doing the moment we book our session; we are going to have fun, play games, tell jokes. Talk to them about me as if I am a friend so that they see you are comfortable with me, this usually helps them feel comfortable as well.

Smile!
Don't worry about telling them to smile during our session; some children who are asked to smile for the photographer get awkward and end up baring their teeth! Instead, let me get them to smile genuinely.
If I need your help, I’ll let you know!

Plan ahead
Schedule your session at a time when everyone is well-rested, fed, and in good spirits, especially if you have young children. This will help with a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
Before the shoot...

oversights
Your phone, keys and wallet are sometimes an oversight and you might forget to take them out of your pockets. Keep them in a bag that can be put nearby because they will show outlines in your trousers. Hairbands are another common oversight; take them off your wrists an hour before your shoot so there are no lines.

Requests
Prior to the session, you will receive a questionnaire to let me know if you have any specific requirements regarding theme or location. You may have a specific pose or idea that you'd like us to try.
This communication ensures everyone is on the same page and helps achieve the desired outcome.

Pack essentials
Pack essential items like combs, wipes, snacks, and water bottles, especially if you have young children. These will help keep everyone clean, hydrated and energised throughout the session.
